Hello! First I want to say thank you for providing this service (especially for free ;3).

I installed OI to a directory called /invite/ on my server, and I ran postinstall.php. Everything said "OK" except for a few out-of-country mail sites that I wouldn't use anyway. I tried logging in to GMail--no success. I tried Hotmail--nope. Facebook was also a no-go. Every time, I encountered the message:

Login failed. Please check the email and password you have provided and try again later

However, I've double and triple checked that my username and password are both correct. The only service that I have successfully grabbed my contacts from has been Twitter.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to alleviate it?

I should also add that the checklist doesn't list off like it should. Instead of listing one-by-one as it checks the plugins, it checks them all and then displays them.

Which transport you are using- curl or wget? For more clear view of problem, please append extracts from log_error.log [I believe you have it 'ON']

JunoOnline: Thanks for replying! I'm using cURL to issue the requests. I've also made sure that my 443 port is open and both VERIFYPEER and VERIFYHOST opts are set to false.

Odd thing is, I don't have access to the error log file (permissions issue). I will try and get a hold of it as soon as possible, though. Is there any other information that I could give to help out?

PSS: I've discovered that I can access http sites but not https sites. This seems like a problem with my particular server, not with OI. If you would like to continue helping me I would greatly appreciate it, but if not I understand.

There is your problem!!!

OI uses 'https' to login most of the providers. Soyou are not able to login.
To correct the problem, you beed to install curl with SSL support.
I will see, if I find any tutoriol on 'how to do that'.

I guess this should work. Bad thing is that postinstall.php does not check for SSL support.

error_log is placed in /tmp (generally). This is set in config.php. You can change this any time tto your convenient location. And make sure that location has permissions to OI.

Here's the phpinfo() information regarding cURL on my server:

cURL support enabled
cURL Information libcurl/7.18.2 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3.3 libidn/1.8 libssh2/0.18

PHP is also running as an apache module, PHP Version 5.2.6-1+lenny3. Here is the error log, although I doubt it's much help now since we know what the culprit is XD

Is there a solution to this problem? Curl with SSL is installed on my server, I've setup a test script to ensure that both VERIFYPEER and VERIFYHOST are set to false and working as expected. This is a shared hosting environment, but not sure what needs to be done to get this working?
